Summer Memories

It seems it was just a few short weeks ago when Blaze was doing this:

"I love the big water bowl!"

While she turned in circles Blaze kept her nose in the water and ended up snorting it up her nose. 

"Water, water, water . . . I love it . . . maybe not up my nose."

Blaze is a puppy at heart and is ready to give that heart to her forever family. 

"Can I Help?"

Have you been looking for the perfect Greyhound companion? You will want to meet Blaze. She loves people and is happiest when she is a part of everything. My Greyhounds are content to lie on dog beds most of the day, while sweet Blaze chooses to be actively engaged.   

Blaze makes sure I grind my coffee beans just right. 

Blaze helps me dust, "Hey Food Lady, you missed a spot."

Updating my calendar. "Am I going to be adopted this month?"

Need help figuring out what's for dinner? "What's with the ice cubes, Food Lady?"

Bored washing windows? Not when Blaze is there.

Trying on new scrubs. "You got some treats in those pockets?"

Blaze makes cleaning the yard fun. "You missed some over there."

This beautiful girl is amusing and endearing. Her love of life makes me smile and laugh everyday. Blaze is ready to love and "help" her very own forever family. 

Some Days

Blaze is a little beauty with expressive ears that look and feel like black velvet. They compliment her white paws perfectly. You must see her in person. My photos do not do her justice. 

"While I think about who my new family will be I realize that: some days everything's 'to the left, to the left'."

"Some days are a right ear salute kind of day."

"Some days are belly up, paws in the air kind of days."

"Some days are having the whole seat to myself kind of days."

Blaze being Blaze

Blaze was lovingly returned to GEGR by her adoptive family when life's circumstances changed for them. Now this spunky little four year old is eager to see what the next chapter of life has in store for her. 

     "I hope I get lots of belly rubs."

"Wait, it's the Food-Lady? She brings fun stuff."

             "Yippee! New toys!"

"I love splashing in the big water bowl!"   

   

Life with Blaze

Blaze is working hard to learn everything a retiree needs to know.  

"They keep the good stuff in here."

"People make great pillows." 

 "I don't think I can help you, but I'll try."

"Enough practice jumping in and out, it's nap time."

"Now if someone would just pet my belly."

"Now if only two hands were petting me."

"Good humans."

A little off roadin' 

Silly ears.

Blaze the Bold

A shrinking violet? Not this girl. She is ready and eager for new experiences. Whether it's meeting people or dogs, car rides, visiting friends, or walking in the park Blaze is up for it.  

 Blaze enjoys a romp with friends.

Her first time visiting Split, she explores his crate. 

"Someone new! Pet me!" Blaze says.

A huddle in the back corner. What are they up to? 

I was surprised when Blaze didn't move as I vacuumed. My hounds left the room. 

... Just Right.

Blaze didn't realize she would have so many decisions to make in retirement. 

But she's having fun making them, for example what bed to sleep in. 

This one is too small...

Yeah, definitely too small...

This one is too big...

This one is too tall...

This one is just right...

 Yeah, this is definitely the one.
